A Concise History Of The Arabic Language

This study aims to monitor the studies and efforts made in the Arabic language and its grammar by subjecting them to a historical perspective. In this context, the study is first presented for five grammatical schools such as the Basra, Kufa, Baghdad, Andalusia and Egypt-Sham schools, then the status of the Arabic language in the Ottoman era, which was described as a period of stagnation, is revealed, and issues that were often neglected about this era are shed light on, and finally the studies on the Arabic language and its grammar in the modern era and the attempts aimed at reviewing and facilitating the grammar are discussed. In addition, the study is provided with two appendices: the first appendix on Arabic dictionaries and their types and the second appendix on the contributions made by scholars in the science of rhetoric.
